FGM
Breaking the Silence
Understanding the Issue
FGM involves removal of female genitalia, affecting over 200,000 women in the US and causing lifelong harm.
Legal Protection
Federal law (18 U.S. Code § 116) prohibits FGM in the US and forbids transporting girls abroad. Many states have similar protections.
Community Engagement
